Suzanne A. Tollefson graduated with honors from University of California, Los Angeles, in 1984, with a Bachelors of Arts in English. She received her Juris Doctor from University of California, Hastings School of the Law in 1990. Her experience as a Deputy City Attorney, prosecuting public nuisance actions and counseling public utilities for the City and County of San Francisco, led to her interest in construction litigation, as well as a published opinion (City and County of San Francisco v. Daley (1993) 16 Cal.App.4th 734). Suzanne represented developers, design professionals and subcontractors as an associate with Gordon & Rees in San Francisco, before relocating to Sacramento in 1998. As Trial Attorney with Vitale & Lowe, staff counsel for Zurich North America, Suzanne defended multi-million dollar defect actions often involving mold-related bodily injury claims. Suzanne joined YM&C in 2008, as Of Counsel, where she specializes in construction business and defect litigation.
Suzanne wrote this article for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Image Magazine (December 2011/January 2012)
